COENZYME Q10 120

Coenzyme Q10, otherwise known as ubiquinone, is a fat-soluble compound similar to vitamins.
Coenzyme Q10, otherwise known as ubiquinone, is a fat-soluble compound similar to vitamins. It is necessary for cellular energy production (it participates in the production of adenosine triphosphate /ATP/). The concentration of O10 in the body gradually decreases due to age and disease – the body of a 40-year-old person produces approximately 30 percent less Q10, and its synthesis rate is up to 60 percent lower in a 50-year-old than in a 20-year-old person. Lower concentrations of Q10 in the body are also a result of weaker food adsorption (meat), although food is generally considered to be a poor source of Q10 (on average, a person can intake between 3 and 5 mg of Q10 a day). Furthermore, some medicinal drugs (such as, for instance, statins) can also decrease the concentration of Q10 in the body.

Action:

Combined with enzymes, Coenzyme Q10 or ubiquinone participates in the mitochondrial electron transport chain, where a series of respiratory processes known as oxidative phosphorylation leads to the production of ATP, the main cellular source of energy which provides energy for most biological processes.

Research shows that Q10 protects LDL from oxidation, helps preserve vitamin E and has anti-oxidative action.

Due to a direct influence on the heart muscle, it is highly beneficial for heart function.
